  • WHAT IS OFFERED DURING THE DAY?

    WHITE FLAG

At the Connection Center, we empower lives with human connection and real solutions. One of those solutions is to offer weather respite through our White Flag hours at Fig Tree.

In cases of extreme temperatures in winter and summer, we hang a white flag outside of Fig Tree to indicate that we are open. While Fig Tree offers a variety of services (laundry, showers, a hot meal, and more), White Flag offers only weather respite, water, coffee, and restroom access.

White Flag hours are temperature-dependent and also rely on staff and volunteer availability. As a general rule, we try to operate White Flag hours on winter mornings when the temperature is below 35 degrees, between 8:30 and 10:30 am, Monday through Thursday. In the summer, White Flag may be offered in the afternoons when the temperature is 95 degrees and above, between 2:30 and 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

White Flag hours are not guaranteed, but we do our best to offer weather respite whenever possible.
