IMPACT NEWS UPDATES

Hope Initiative Homework Helpers

Hope Initiative transforms our community through the love of Jesus, one single parent family at a time. Make an impact in the life of a student K-12 by sharing a meal with them and helping the student with their homework on Tuesday evenings. Commitment is 10 weeks per semester on Tuesday evenings. Dinner and training are provided. Contact Katie (kmcilwain@cokesbury.tv) for more information.

FALL BREAK MISSION EXPERIENCE

Join us as we serve at the United Methodist Disaster Relief Depot in Decatur, Alabama during Fall Break. Individuals and families with kids 9 & older can volunteer at the warehouse, which stores & distributes disaster relief supplies throughout the country. Click here for more details.

FOOD FOR KIDS

Every other week, Cokesbury Kids pack bags of food for some of the most vulnerable children in our community. A team of dedicated volunteers helps support this effort each semester. Register now to volunteer.

VOLUNTEER MUSICIANS

If you play an instrument and would like to employ your talents for the glory of God, please let us know. Our South Campus has plenty of opportunities for you to engage in worship in playing your instrument. Violin, flute, trumpet, saxophone, etc – all are welcome! A three-year level of proficiency is required. Please contact Marcelo Urias, our Traditional Worship Director at (865) 246-0434 or murias@cokesbury.tv

SOUTH CAMPUS CHOIR

Come join the South Campus choir! No music experience is necessary, just a desire to praise the Lord with your voice.

The choir participates in the 10:00 a.m. worship service every Sunday, year-round.

We rehearse every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the lower level of the South Campus.

The music is varied and the rehearsal takes place in a relaxed atmosphere yet striving for great music-making.

For more information please contact Dr. Marcelo Urias, the choir director, at murias@cokesbury.tv

MANNA HOUSE ITEM OF THE MONTH:

You can help us feed the almost 700 families who visit the Manna House Food Pantry each month. Drop off food in a Manna House donation bin on any campus.

This month, we’re collecting Cereal (whole grain, 12-15 oz).

UPDATES:

Kroger Rewards: Your supporters (118 households) who shopped at Kroger between 3-1-2018 and 5-28-2018 have contributed to a $827.71 total donation to Manna House. If you have not already, please sign up at www.krogercommunityrewards.com to support Manna House when you shop at Kroger.gs.

KARM and KARM Stores: Through the first half of the year, 112,509 meals were served to guests at KARM. Every day, 62 guests sought help through Crossroads Welcome Center. These interactions led to 34 new enrollees in the Berea Program. In addition, 31 guests found permanent housing. And 17 individuals started a relationship with Jesus. These milestones were supported by you! Over the past three months, KARM Stores received 1,313 donations of goods and time from those connected to Cokesbury United Methodist Church. I’m delivering $4,580 in gift cards for you to help others in your community.
Thank you for partnering with us. Together, lives are being restored in Jesus’ name.
