Serve Cokesbury Kids

Are you willing to help? Our needs are as diverse as the kids we serve. Find out how you can get involved and serve others in our church community while building relationships.

Your involvement matters because your service does make a difference. The roles listed below describe many of the service opportunities where we need your help. Please look around and then select the area in which you would like to volunteer. Diane Baylor to sign up.

Weekend Opportunities

It takes over 50 volunteers to make Saturday and Sunday Cokesbury Kids ministry happen.

  • Small Group Team learn along with our children while developing friendships with families and our team. Lead a small group of elementary aged children through activities designed to help reinforce the lesson. Activities and supplies are prepared for you.  Commit once a month.
  • Guest Services help make the best first impression by greeting first-time guests and returning families. Welcome our kids into a friendly and engaging environment.  Commit once a month.
  • Ambassadors greet and guide new families through the registration and check-in process to make them feel welcome and informed.  Commitment is every other week.
  • Special Needs Buddy serve one-on-one to provide a safe, caring environment where children with special needs learn about God's love for them.
  • Preschool Teachers teach about God’s love through a story, use hands-on activities to reinforce Bible lesson and guided play to create a warm and welcoming environment. Lessons and supplies are prepared for you. We ask for our Sunday morning teams to serve twice a month so our preschoolers can recognize a friendly face.
Wednesday Night Opportunities

It takes over 30 volunteers on Wednesday Nights to encourage and build our kids’ faith in Jesus. We follow the Knox County school calendar.

  • Group Team Members lead or co-lead a small group of 8-12 elementary aged children. Connect relationally each week with an assigned group to speak truth into their lives and celebrate spiritual growth.
  • Greeters help make the best first impression by greeting first-time guests and returning families. Welcome our kids into a friendly and engaging environment.
  • Security Team help keep a safe and secure environment. Your presence provides another set of eyes to monitor all the exciting activity and keeps everyone safe.
  • Behind the Scenes Team Help by being available for last minute supply prep, passing out snacks, or step in for a sick leader; whatever is needed for that night.
  • Preschool Teachers teach about God’s love through a story, use hands-on activities to reinforce Bible lesson and guided play to create a warm and welcoming environment. Lessons and supplies are prepared for you.
