It is an egg hunt that is a scavenger hunt, a clue-solving trek, and serving event that ends in a picnic. Anyone and everyone can participate. So, get a friend, the whole family, your small group, or neighbors… and get ready to have some fun.
Saturday, April 15 from 10:00am -1:00pm
How does it work?
Clues will be posted beginning at 10 am on Cokesbury’s Social Media feeds (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram). New clues will be published every 15 minutes. You don’t have to have an account on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to participate. Just click the links above to visit our pages where you can view the clues at 10 am, 10:15 am, 10:30 am, 10:45 am, 11:00 am, 11:15 am, 11:30 am, and 11:45 am.
Solving the clues will lead you to destinations in a five-mile radius around Cokesbury. Some clues may ask you to complete a simple task of service and provide a photo to prove it completed. Creativity is welcomed and encouraged while completing these tasks.
At the destinations, the clues lead you to will find a vehicle with a blue pennant flag where you will pick up a card with a code on it. Put the codes together correctly to find out our final destination. There we will have hot dogs, chips, drinks, and games.
A couple things to keep in mind:
There is no central starting point. You are free to begin from wherever you wish. Clue destinations will close 30 minutes after the clue is posted. So, while this is not a race, speed is important. Help is available. We will post a help hotline number for you if you get in a jam with a clue. If you get a late start or just want to party with us, you can also use the number to find out the picnic location.
You can let us know you are in the game and share the fun by using the hashtag: #eggsighting.
You may want chairs or blankets for the picnic portion of the event.
